golf by storm. Golfers of all levels of ability are benefitting from the ease of use of the hybrid golf
club. Players on all professional tours, including the P.G.A., Champions (Senior), and
L.P.G.A. Tour are playing competitive rounds with one or more hybrid golf clubs on a regular
basis.
Professional golfers will not use equipment that doesn't work. This isn't to say the average
golfer can play the same type of equipment as the Tour players but even the pros have seen the
light when it comes to hybrid golf clubs and their utility from typical long iron distances. Hybrid
clubs produce a higher, softer ball flight, which helps to signifigantly control the distance and
amount of roll as long irons generally produce a lower, more boring ball flight which tends to roll
more, especially at lower swing speeds.
Hybrid golf clubs are excellent for shots out of the rough, a very tough shot with a long iron. With
a shorter shaft than fairway woods, and about the same as a long iron, the hybrid is easier to
control, and instills confidence. Hybrid clubs are great for teeing off on short, tight par 4's.
Hybrids also function beautifully on long par 3's.
Nearly every iron in the bag can now be replaced with an equivalent hybrid golf club. Hybrids
cost a bit more, on average, than an iron but the benefit greatly outweighs the cost in this
instance. The hybrid golf club is no longer considered a senior or ladies' club, but a golf club that
will certainly produce the greatest benefit the golfing public since titanium began making its
appearance in golf.
